If you are looking for a relaxing holiday on a Spanish island, Menorca should definitely be on your radar. One of the most beautiful places to stay in Menorca is Binibeca, a picturesque town located on the east side of the island. This idyllic cluster of individual houses built around an attractive beach and the small fishing cala, or cove, of Cala Torret, is the perfect place to unwind and explore the local area.

Binibeca, or Binibequer, is known for its charming, white-washed houses and narrow streets that create a unique atmosphere. The village has a lovely church and several small squares, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a cup of coffee at one of the local cafes. Access to the wide, sheltered beach at Binibeca is along a footpath that winds through a small, wooded area of pine trees, perfect for picnics. The warm, shallow waters and fine, white sand of this pretty little cala are ideal for families with younger children or non-swimmers. Parasols, sun loungers and pleasure boats are all available for hire.
Binibeca is an ideal location for exploring the east side of the island of Menorca, especially on foot or on a bike along one of the many tranquil tracks that criss-cross the area. Nearby you can explore exceptional Cap D’en Font, Binibeca Vell and Binisafuller. You can also take a ride on the ‘Binibeca Land Train’ that runs between Binibeca and Punta Prima in the high season. It isn’t free of charge, costing around €7 for a return ticket, but has a variety of pick up and drop off points between the two destinations.
If you like to walk or hike then you can join the Camí de Cavalls, a historical 185km trail that is thought to have existed since the 14th century, popular with hikers, horseback riders and mountain bikers. Binibeca lies mid-way along section 18 of the Camí, and from here you have two options, head east towards Punta Prima or west towards Binissafuller. If you're looking for something a little more active, Binibeca has a variety of water sports on offer, including windsurfing, paddle-boarding, and snorkelling. The clear waters around the island are perfect for diving, with several dive schools offering courses and guided tours.
Nearby Cala Torret is connected to Binibeca Nou and is situated on a small Peninsula. It has narrow, picturesque streets and houses similar to Binibeca Vell and is also pedestrianised in the centre of town. The community of Cala Torret is smaller and quieter than Binibeca and has a handful of excellent restaurants with views out over the Mediterranean, a local shop, a bakery, and a number of scenic rocky outcrops upon which you could laze the afternoon away.
Binibeca is also well positioned to explore further afield during your stay on the island of Menorca and there are plenty of activities and attractions on offer. The island is dotted with small towns and villages, each with its own unique charm and character. Menorca is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean, with crystal-clear waters and unspoiled natural surroundings. It only takes around 25 minutes to drive from Binibeca to the centre of the island or around 40 to the northern tip of this small Spanish island, and car hire gives you the means to easily visit any destination you desire, although its best to pre-book a car with us at the time of booking your villa due to limitations placed on the number of cars allowed on the island. Some guests within Europe, especially from the UK, France and Spain choose to drive to Menorca by catching the ferry from Barcelona to the island. With a car and a map of Menorca, you’ll be free to roam the island, visiting popular spots like Ciutadella, Mahon, Sant Lluis or even Menorca’s zoological park, water park, nature reserve or golf course.
Renting a villa in Menorca is a great way to experience the island's natural beauty and culture. Menorca rental options are plentiful, but Binibeca is Menorca’s standout destination for its tranquil location and proximity to some of the island's best attractions.
